We Win Some and We Lose Some
We do not always have a 100% conversion from a job vacancy to a placement. Of course, we wish we did but that is life in business, and we are aware that from time-to-time some of our vacancies are filled internally.
The first line of this blog may seem negative to some, but we adopt an honest and realistic approach to everyday life here at Shepherd Stubbs.
Recently, we were asked by a new client in St Neots to find a suitable person for their latest vacancy. We started the process of talking to our existing pre-qualified candidates we had on our CRM, promoted the role online via job boards, our website & social media channels.
We were super excited to be entrusted by our new client as we appreciate all new business.
However, we were notified shortly afterwards by our client that they had employed someone via a friend of a friend in the industry. This is one of the losses for us, but it happens.
We know that we did everything that we possibly could to help our client in the timeframe we had. We did have a nice win for the team though as we received some amazing feedback for the service we provided:
“I do however appreciate all of your assistance to date and will not hesitate to contact you should I find myself in a position of sourcing staff in the future”
This was a win! Feedback is important as this helps us to develop our service and ensure we are continually performing to the highest possible standards.
A nice win because we will hopefully be their first thought when our client has a new requirement.
We won’t lie to you. It’s disappointing when this happens. We are human and we respect that sometimes things do not always go the way we would like them to.
So, we move on to the next client and continue to provide a high level of service and strive to ensure that we always win more than we lose!
